As of Sep 29, 2026, the Center for Responsible Lending list covers 20 states and DC with rate caps that stop high-cost payday lending.

Rhode Island joins on January 1, 2027. These caps do not mean every borrowing product is unavailable. Other trackers may treat Ohio, Hawaii and Virginia differently.
